Gotta Love a Deal

So ladies....who loves a great deal?!?!? I know I do! You know you can still dress cute and stylish without shopping at your local boutique {which is fun too}. Anyways, I LOVE sales & coupons. Every Friday I visit Old Navy.com to see what weekly specials they have going on.....a little something new to spice up the wardrobe without spending my paycheck! Guess what??? For one week only Old Navy's outerwear is up to 50% off! Wahoo I'm not sure about you but its getting cold here! I have had my eye on a few coats but I did not want to spend $100.00 or even $80.00 on them...well guess what Ill happily pay half of that...Looks like I will be purchasing a few coats at lunch! ha

I really like this green one...it has a hood that you can take off and put back on. So cute!!

I purchased a cute plaid scarf last week from here for $12.00 {it was hard swallowing that pill} but I thought it would be so cute with jeans and a white top so I gave in. BUT guess what?!?!?! All scarves will be $1.00....yes you read correctly....$1.00 tomorrow @ Old Navy...Limit 5 per customer. Ya better hurry before they are all gone. I promise they have some really cute ones. Here is the one I purchased already!!

Happy Friday!!

Who What Wear

Happy Thursday! So, some of you may be familiar with Who What Wear but for those that are not...go check it out. My friend Candice introduced me to this site a few days ago and Im loving it. I even purchased the book. hah! Im "patiently" waiting for Barnes & Noble to ship my book and the new Steven Curtis Chapman CD. YAY!! Maybe both will be on my doorstep this afternoon. {I hope}
Im excited about reading the book....Candice told me its really good....oh and she has informed me that EVERY girl should own red lipstick. Um.....I dont...I have never really been a red person...not even nail polish or shirts at that! Looks like I will be on a hunt for the "perfect" red lipstick.

As for my Steven Curtis Chapman Cd...I love him. I love his music & the person he is. This is the first album he has released since the death of his youngest child. Maria passed away last year...Im sure this album will be amazing and completely heartfelt. I have always said since I was a young child that I would love to adopt one day. Of course I know this will all be in God's will but it is a desire that I have. SCC and his wife have biological children but they have adopted 3 little girls from China as well. Such an awsome family!!

Happy Hump Day

Yay its already Wed. I hope everyone is having a great week so far. So did yall catch the Biggest Loser last night? Bye bye Tracy!! Im gonna be honest.....she looked GREAT at the very end. I was so proud to see her continue her transformation at home...it sure has paid off for her. I chowed down at Firebirds before heading home to watch the show. While watching I almost felt guilty for eating everything I did but I have not been to Firebirds in a while so I had to have a few of my favs...lobster spinach dip, their yummy bread, grilled salmon, Parmesan mashed potatos and grilled veggies. The only thing I skipped out on was the B.L.T salad and the walnut brownie with ice cream. {I had to have some self control somewhere}.

Im so ready for Friday!! This weekend one of my besties Heather & I are headed down to Mississippi to see our Becka. {Bex, we cant wait to see ya!!} We will be shopping...shopping and shopping! I just hope the weather is pretty. So far we have had sunshine. THANK GOODNESS...the rain was getting very old and my hair was tired of being curly....or should I say I was tired of wearing my hair curly! Yeah that makes more sense. :) And I was tired of the bottom of my pants being wet. yucky!!

So its Wed and the Sun is shining! Hope everyone has a blessed day!

Dear John

So as if I do not have a TON of books already to read.....I found another. ha! Seriously I think I may have a problem with purchasing books just to fill the book case. Well not really I do read them but I am a bit behind on reading a few. Anyways....my ALL TIME FAVORITE movie is the The Notebook!! Cliche you may say. But oh how I love this movie. It is definitely my "go to" movie. When I'm happy, sad, sick, bored...you name it....I can put that movie in and it all seems better. Don't get me wrong...I love movies & have plenty of FAVS {so many I would not dare try to list them} but you get my point I LOVE the Notebook. Maybe its Ally & Noah or maybe Rachel McAdams or the one who wrote the story Nicholas Sparks....I don't know but LOVE IT!!

So now that I have made it clear that it's my favorite movie, I must tell you what I am reading. DEAR JOHN...by who else....Nicholas Sparks.....and GUESS WHAT?!?!?!

The movie will be out this Spring!!! aaahhhh....now I hope I'm not getting all excited for nothing. This movie has a lot to live up to. I started reading two nights ago and I'm half way finished. The book is really good so if you are looking for a new one give it a try!! I don't think you will be disappointed!

Well I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and a great Halloween. We did for sure & of course the weekend never lasts long enough. I have yet to upload my pictures on my camera but I do have a few on my phone so Ill share them but please excuse the quality!!

So as you can see from the pics....I had one pretty pretty princess who loves to show out....she knew she was cute. {excuse the fact she needs a haircut} and then I had one humiliated squirrel. To say the least....Ellie DOES NOT like clothes, bows or anything that makes her cuter than she is already. Lola on the other hand...dress her up and she is ready to prance around. haha!

Both were so good though in their costumes. Ill share better pics later.

Happy Monday!

Trick or Treat

Finally Friday. Yay! So does everyone have there costumes ready for tomorrow? Im not dressing up but my doggies will be for sure. One of my favorite parts of Halloween is seeing what Celebrities choose to dress as. They go all out and I LOVE their costume ideas usually. Not all but most!! I think it is so silly when girls feel the need to use Halloween to dress scandalous. Let's see we have the "sexy"...."skimpy" bee, ladybug, devil, angel, nurse, you name it...for some reason Halloween is the time to turn it all "sexy". If you have seen one you have seen them all. No offense to ANYONE who chooses to be one of these. {just a personal opinion} I tend to enjoy the more creative costumes.

Today at work we had our annual Halloween Hogaramma. It was so much fun....Ill be sure to upload pics tonight...we had some great costumes! Different departments in the company put on skits with their costumes. We had Michael Jackson with the dead ppl from the Thriller video, we had Wizard of Oz, Ghost busters, Paula Deen, girls from the Titanic and several others.

Ill leave yall with some Celebrity costumes. The Today Show already has their pics on the Web. I always enjoy waiting to see what they choose to do.

One of my other Fav's would be Regis and Kelly. This duo never lets me down. I do not have pics to show of this year but I do know Kelly did Lady Gaga and Melissa Rycroft. haha! Here are some of the duo from the past though.

Pam & Kid Rock....the next picture....David Beckham and Posh. haha. I think these two are so good at making their costume character come to life. Love it!

Hope everyone has a wonderful Friday!

Thankful Thursday

Happy Thursday!!
Lets see where do I begin.....Gosh I have so much to say {surprise..surprise}
Last night I joined some of the girls from my connect group & experienced something so awakening!! I live on the out skirts of Memphis, Tn....about 30-40 mins from Downtown Memphis. Im sure most of you are familiar with Memphis whether its because of Elvis, Memphis basketball, or the CRIME we are known for. Im not sure the statistics but I do know that our crime rate is very high. I consider myself to have lived a pretty sheltered life. The town I live in is not known for crime & is pretty much considered a very "tight" small town. People complain about the police but I have grown to realize that because of them & their desire to keep our town safe.....crime is something I have not feared in my home or town. {yes, Im aware it happens anywhere}

So, with that bit of background.....last night us girls headed downtown to the Memphis Union Mission. In summary this is a place where the homeless {men} come to eat and sleep. I do not know all the rules & regulations but I do know that this is a place where the homeless can go to eat, sleep, shower, & be counseled. I had a few people tell me their thoughts & how unsafe this could be but I followed my heart and what God wanted from me. I can honestly say that I was hesitant but felt like this was something I needed to do. The past few weeks I have had several conversations arise at work about the homeless and panhandling. So, I felt like this was an opportunity God placed me with & I was ready to get out there and do my part!! When I walked into the Union Mission and realized I would be sitting hip to hip....elbow to elbow with a homeless man, it really hit me. It hit me that we are all ONE....ONE in Jesus Christ. We are all CHILDREN OF GOD! I am one bad decision away from sleeping on the streets. When I walked in and took my seat, the song AMAZING GRACE was playing. It took me a minute to adjust because I sat and watched the men I pass some days on the corner...hands high....belting out "My chains are gone I have been set free........My Lord has promised good to me.....unending love amazing grace", I was completely moved. The entire night was great! Bob's testimony was shared and it was so awesome to see men respond. Of course there were several that slept the entire time & they were probably waiting on pins & needles for us to hurry so they could rest their heads. BUT you never know when the one asleep will lift his head....remove the blind.....take off the earmuffs, & open his heart to what it is God is saying. These men are not there by CHANCE....they are there for a reason. I was there for a reason. I cannot express with words how much my sheltered little heart was touched last night. These men that I usually would find myself "avoiding" were smiling at me, waving and just simply saying hi! I do realize that some have mental illnesses and some are convicts but I also realize that God loves them and expects us to do the same. We cant save the world but we sure can start somewhere. This may have been my first Union Mission experience but I promise it will not be my last.

Thank yall for allowing me to share my experience. If by chance you live in the Memphis area, I HIGHLY recommend visiting the Union Mission & even take the opportunity to worship with these men. Since I am a girl, I am very excited to learn that there are specific shelters for woman & children. This is somewhere that I would like to get more involved with. I could have more one on one involvement with the ladies.

So with all this being said, I laid my head down last night and THANKED God for my blessings!

Matthew 25:37 (New International Version)

37"Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink?
