What's in there Wednesday

Hey Everyone!

Angie @ SSM has added a new game for anyone who wants to participate. It's called "What's in there Wednesday. This week's edition- Make up bags!

I love makeup and I have about 5 bags full of different brands and items. My mom is a makeup artist so I guess I get the love for makeup from her. She will buy 10 of the exact same colors but different brands....now im not that bad but I guess between the two of us I have bookoodles of stuff. But...for today I will just show you my EVERYDAY makeup bag. Enjoy!!

This is my EVERYDAY makeup case. Are you ready....Im not very oraganized...there are compartments but everytime I try to organize it....everything seems to end up thrown around so here is what ya get..................

This is the "loo" haha. Okay I did not take individual pics of everything but I can tell you what I use on a daily basis. First off I start out with my Bobbi Brown moisturizer and eye cream. the I use my under eye concealor which is also bobby brown (see below)
I then put on my foundation and loose powder which are both Makeup Forever. (flawless and lasts all day) I hate a heavy feel on my face and this is great coverage without the heaviness. I then work on my eyes. My before I put on my shadow, I use a product from MAC called Painterly. (see below) this helps to keep my shadow in place all day long.
Most of my shadows are from MAC and I use different ones daily. But some of my Fav's are....Twinks, Sable, Naked Lunch and Hush. Then I put on my eyeliner (brown/black). Now for the lashes....oh ladies I love some lashes. I promise by my eyelash curler....hehe...she's the best. Shu Uemura....never pinches and curls evenly. I used to ONLY use Lancome mascara being the lash junkie I am but recently I have found a cheaper tube that works just a great.

This Cover Girl mascara is wonderful! Trust me!! Once I apply my eyes, I then put on my bronzer and blush. Bronzer is Bare Minerals Faux Tan and blush is from Nars. Then I put on my lipstick which constantly changes but most of my colors are from Mac. I mix alot and add gloss.

So I hope you enjoyed your tour through my makeup bag an I encourage yall to play along!!

Have a SUPER day!

No Me Monday

Happy Monday everyone! I have not played "Not me Monday in a long time" so why not start back....starting with today. If you have never played then head over to MckMama's blog where you can learn the rules. They are not hard but her blog is really cute and she is awesome so you will enjoy reading and getting to know her and her beautiful family. Okay so here is my "Not Me's" for the past week.
So Friday I realized I was getting sick. I sat at work until noon when I finally realized I only felt worse so I did not want to drive home just for thermometer so I headed down the street from work to Walgrees. They were completely out of digital thermometers so I had to buy the "old school" mercury one....that or the ear one for infants. So I bought my $6.00 stick and hurried to the car where I did not sit with this thing hanging out of my mouth for 4 minutes....which felt like 40. Only because everyone that walked buy looked at me as if I had lost my mind....it was sit in the parking lot or drive down Poplar (busy rd for you that do not know). Once I realized I had fever, I did not make a dash to the Dr where I held my breath the best I could for 45 minutes in fear of catching SWINE or any of the other germs in the office. NOPE NOT ME!!!
I did not get up in the middle of the night to use the restroom and walk smack dab into the wall (hard) bc I thought I could see in the dark. NOPE NOT ME!!
I did not buy the completely wrong chocolate for my fondant fountian this weekend. Yesterday I had a bridal shower at my house. I was in such a hurry that I just grabbed 2 bags of chocolates that were located in the EXACT same spot as the ones I usually buy. I got the the chocolate going and all my fountain goodies out....(fruit, rice krispies, pretzels, etc.) to only realize that we had a problem. As all the guest arrived the chocolate was hard as a rock in this fountain. I realized that I bought the chocolate you cover things in and it hardens...........NOPE NOT ME. Good thing I did not burn the motor up in my new fountain.
So you see its pretty easy. Mine are nowhere as funny as MckMamas but sometimes its good to get a laugh out of the ridiculous things we do in our daily lives.
I hope everyone is having a grand Monday. Bible Study tonight with my small group then Im in the bed early. I hope the weekend comes fast. :)

What a Weekend

Aaah..I cant believe it is already Sunday...that means tomorrow is Monday. Is it just me or do the weekends never seem to last long enough. My weekend started early bc I left the office around 2 on Friday. I was under the weather and figured I better take my tail to the doctor since several ppl in the company have the flu. I got my Flu shot but I heard it takes 2-3 wks and well Friday was only week one. Needless to say I DO NOT have the flu just a cold. I had fever which is what worried me the most.

Saturday I stayed in my pj's all day! I LOVED it. Since I didnt feel well, I figured it would be okay plus I spent most of the day cleaning house. I had a sweet visitor come by to see his Aunt Leigh Leigh.

Today we had an amazing service at church. Im not gonna lie....every Sunday is amazing but today was extra special. Today is Highpoint's 7 yr anniversary!!! We had a very special service. Not only was worship amazing, we had a guest. Mike Lewis better known as "The Jesus Painter" painted 3 portraits during the service. Two were painted during worship songs and the thrid he painted during communion. You HAVE to check him out.........truely awesome. I had tears rolling and chills all over my body! Here are the three he painted today........
Jesus paid it all and all to him I owe!!! This was the first one that he painted and literally did this in under 10 minutes. He started with a blank canvas and this was the outcome! (notice the tear). Oh how he loves us!!
This was the second painting. Look at the eyes.

This was the last portrait.......called communion. Mike painted this one while we took communion.

I loved loved loved the paintings. Oh and how could I forget we had several baptisms as well. Praise the Lord!!! Last but not least to I was able to serve with the kiddos this morning.

Then to wrap up my Sunday, I hosted a bridal shower with my mama for one of my girlfriends. It turned out so cute and everyone had a great time. I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!!

Off to get ready for another work week. I pray I start to feel better...its hard to work when you are sick. ugh!!

Hope everyone has a happy Monday!

Love,

Leigh

A few things....One post

So I have decided its time to change up my bedroom. Now I must say that I love my room...its my "getaway" but sometimes change is good. So I have decided to change my bedding up. I wish I had a before picture but I do not on this computer. (I will work on getting one). I have decided to share my ideas bc of a bloggy friend Angie-Short Southern Mama. In her latest post she described some ideas she had for her bedroom....by the way she has great taste and we seem to enjoy the same decor style. So I am sharing my ideas so that Angie can see what I am doing and y'all can too. Please give me feedback if you think I should change anything....even if you don't like it. Okay I love classy, vintage, shabby, french country, decor- that best describes my taste.

Please note that the above bedding IS NOT the bedding I have picked out but I LOVE the "SET UP" so with everything I show you, fabric/material wise, this is how it will be placed. This picture is from Bella Vita, one of my most favorite stores. and she has a website so check her out.

This bedding is what I have in mind for my duvet (which like the first picture will be folded towards the bottom). This pattern will also be in at least two shams. Now I'm not sure what color sheets I will use but I do know on top of the sheets, I will put an ivory matelasse and probably two ivory matelasse shams.

And Lastly, I love this pattern for the bed skirt and for my Big Euros which will be at the head of the bed

I do realize it's hard to picture it all together but I PROMISE it is beautiful. I have seen it all pieced together and it had my name written all over it...just not the price I wanted to pay. hehe! So come Christmas, I should have my new bed pieced together.

I have decided I'm getting a sewing/embroidery machine for Christmas. So just maybe Ill make some really cute throw pillows for my new bedding. So what do y'all think?

**PART TWO OF MY POST**

One of my girlfriends who I miss since she moved to Nashville, LA has tagged me with this.......

The rules are......

2) Sweet Tea........enough said except I actually drink unsweet with splenda...I had to back off the sugar.
3) PAINTING!!! I cant stop haha. I love painting canvases and picture frames...I need to post some of my most recent ones.
4) oh here is a good one...call me crazy but Im obsessed with writing in thin sharpies. I dont know why but I love those pens.
5) Lastly, Im obsessed with reading, I find myself buying so many books that I end up only reading half before I start the next so before I know it Im reading two books which grows to the three. hahah. Right now Im reading The Shack, Lady in Waiting and I still have not finished the fourth Twilight book.
Wow this was a long post.....but I hope yall enjoyed!
Have a safe and happy weekend!

Well being the hard head I am I stuck to my guns...I dumbed him and told him he could take "her" to the Prom. Now please keep in mind I was a good girl so he obviously wasnt getting what he wanted from me so he went elsewhere which was FINE by me....I ended up wearing the dress to my schools prom with a guy friend. Wednesday, September 23, 2009

Hey everyone! I had no clue that sometime during my busy life I moved to Seattle. Please know this is sarcasm.......I DID NOT move but it has rained 8 straight days here in Tennessee and I am tired of it. Such gloomy days!!

On a happier more positive not however, I want to introduce a new blog I have been reading CLICK HERE. One of my friends shared this blog with me last week and I have now read the entire blog. Incase you are not interested....let me give you a quick summary and I promise you will head over to Kisses from Katie . This girl in her 20's from Brentwood Tn is doing God's work over in Africa. This is a girl who decided to skip out on college, sorority, partying and all the things most 20 year old girls do after high school. Not this young lady. After spending some time in Africa during highschool, she felt that God wanted and needed her there. So once she graduated she broke the news to her parents that God was calling her to Africa and that is where she wanted to be. So she not only left her boyfriend, friends, and family, she also left her chance to be a college student "living the life" (Im sure most of you remember those days).

Katie is now living in Africa with "her family". NO her parents did not join her but she does have a house and her own children that make up her family. Yes you read correctly her own children. These children are orphans who needed medical attention, love, shelter, nourishment and all sorts of other things.....things we take for granted. Katie took these children in and allows them to call her MOM. Not only is she a mother to these children in her home, she also takes care of the children in the village she lives in. She feeds them, bathes the ones that need a good wash and even serves as a Dr. to the ones sick. I could go on and on about all the wonderful things has done and continues doing but I PROMISE if you read it for yourself it will mean more to you. She is able to give description and pictures (oh those beautiful children) that will melt your heart.

I feel so helpless here and I forget just how unfortunate others are. But Im not HELPLESS and you are not either. PRAYER is what Katie needs.......for her and her family.

So before I summarize this entire blog head on over and read it for yourself!!!

Once you click you will be on the homepage of my church. Please then click the play button in the middle of the picture that says "Highpoint Church Perfect place for Imperfect People" and watch!! Im so proud to say I AM HIGHPOINT!! Some of us are fortunate enough to grow up in a home filled with love and support. I grew up knowing that the Lord Jesus Christ was my savior, I went to church every Sunday, I read the bible, I prayed.....but I am also realizing that not everyone grew up or was raised this way. Im not perfect nor is anyone else. But by God's GRACE we are saved....NO MATTER what we have done or where we have been. If we accept him and ask him to come into our heart then we are FOREVER changed and saved.

If you live in the Memphis area I invite you to come visit us at Highpoint! Even if you have a church home....this Sunday is our 7 yr anniversary and we would love for you to come worship with us and celebrate what God is doing in our church along with in and around our city. Please feel free to message me and I would love to meet you, sit with you just let me know. Hope everyone has a wonderful week!!

God Bless!

Its Raining Its Pouring......

The weather here is yucky!! It has rained all week long and it appears that it will rain all weekend as well. Then again it looks like its raining everywhere here in the south.
Thank goodness today is Friday because I'm not sure I could handle another work day. Im ready to curl up and watch movies.....my favorite thing to do on rainy days. Well that and paint!! I have been working on a few different projects lately. I will do my best to post some pictures this weekend. My latest painting (I happen to have a pic on my phone) turned out quite cute!

Hopefully I will finish the remainder of my projects while it rains ALL weekend.

I got my Flu shot yesterday. I figured I would go ahead even though its only September. The flu seems to be bad this year and my Dr said she has seen tons of seasonal flu cases and VERY LITTLE H1N1 cases. THANK YOU LORD! I have been praying like crazy about the Swine flu. There have been several deaths do to this virus in my hometown area and its so sad. I have to stay well so I can spend as much time as possible with my sweet nephew Brooks!! He just turned 4 weeks old...He's a growing boy! A precious one too!

I hope everyone has a wonderful and Safe weekend!!!

Rebel

I know this is two posts in one day but for a very good reason. The precious kitten in my last post....now has a home!! A few people have asked me about this kitten so to answer you all....yes Kitten has a new home-- I kept him and his name is Rebel.

A few weeks ago I posted about Rebel and his hard life for a four week old kitten. I also asked if anyone wanted a kitten. Well needles to say I fell in love. Im not even a cat person. I have two dogs who are totally spoiled rotten and I mean ROTTEN! This kitten though pulled on one of my heartstrings and he now has a home. My vet told me he wouldnt even live. For you that do not know this kitten's story, let me catch you up. My mom found a kitten on the interstate (yes you read correctly ON the interstate) in 100 degree temperatures. She flew by him at 75 mph and quickly turned around. She traveled 3 hours with this kitten to get home. He did not have teeth so we had to bottle feed him and carry him bc he could barely walk. The following day we took him to the doctor only to find out this little thing was deathly sick. He had a respiratory and intestinal infection. We purchased meds to try and save him but we were sent home with very little hope. Let me tell you for an entire week we nursed this kitten and he had a will to fight. He pulled through.

So that brings us to today!! We tried really hard to find Rebel (not for Ole Miss--my mom's boyfriend named him and his name says it all) a home and we found several but............whenever someone would say "yeah we want a kitten" well they were never good enough. ha! We have all grown so attached to Rebel that we just couldnt give him up. We were so worried. We didnt want him to be an outdoors cat bc he has been with us since day one pretty much. He is so personable. He is not afraid of anything. He LOVES his belly rubbed and sleeps on his back. (If you know cats, you know this is not common). Rebel is very secure and content with us. He loves the dogs and they love him. I joke around and tell everyone he will be barking soon-- Im afraid that he my think he is a dog. haha!! So YES I kept him....he has a home (a good one) and his name is Rebel.

Wordless Wednsday....Life's tough

H1N1..aka...Swine Flu

I hope everyone had a WONDERFUL weekend!
I sure did. It doesnt get much better than spending time with Friends and Loved ones plus plenty of "vegg" time. "Vegg" yeah like veggie but without the IE. People make fun of me for that word but I use it often...haha.

On to the point of this post........hence the title! I know everyone has heard of the Swine Flu--we live in America and its being discussed EVERYWHERE. This has not really been a huge concern in my everyday life but I must admit...im gettign a bit concerned. I know of several people who have been sick with this and I keep hearing of more. I tend to be OCD when it comes to germs. Im a huge baby when Im sick and I mean huge! I hate being sick! This past weekend a child died in my hometown from this H1N1 virus. The news keeps talking about how healthy the child was. (Scary) Then to top it off....half of Ole Miss seems to be catching this virus...which is not far from where I live. aahhh...so I have been washing my hands like crazy (they are dry and even hurt) When Im not washing, im using my Purell. I find myself holding my breath in public places....crazy I know. ha!! I just pray that I do not catch this virus nor anyone in my family. My prayers go out to everyone who catches it and I pray for a healthy fast recovery!!

Now dont get me wrong. I have total FAITH in the lord and I know he is in control. I also know that people can be in a car wreck or get cancer just as easily as one could come down with H1N1. I guess when it starts to get close to home though you really start thinking. So please Swine Flu...........STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!

So everyone....do not forget to wash your hands and cover your mouths. Oh and pick up some Purell while your at the store. :) Lets help keep these germs away!

Finally Friday

Wow it has been a long week..................AND im so ready for this 4 day weekend!!

Its a SAD day in the Big Brother house!! I hate seeing Jeff (America's favorite) leave the house. Dont even correct me if he happens to not be your favorite!! :) Im just kidding but seriously.....not only is he cute, sweet, funny, did I mention good looking and completely adorable.......he makes this season worth watching! I love him with Jordan and now she is missing her Best Friend in the house. I dont even want to watch anymore but as long as Jordan remains, I will watch. Just maybe....somehow.....someway....Jeff will come back...just maybe. hah!

Im sure gonna miss him........

And Im gonna miss Jorff

Does everyone have big plans for this weekend? I dont have BIG plans but its sure to be fun. Who doesnt enjoy time off of work spent with the ones you love! I hope everyone has a WONDERFUL and SAFE weekend!! Im loving the weather here...perfect time for Football season. I have seen a lot of football talk around here so it appears that Im not the only one super excited for the games to begin!!

HAPPY FRIDAY
