Let the Festivities begin!

Im super excited that it's Friday. Let the festivites begin!! First off, one of my best friends will be in town late this afternoon and we have dinner plans with some of our girlfriends...this always calls for a good time. Tomorrow we are heading to Nashville for Catherine's bachelorette party. Im very excited to see her and shower her with a fun night. Saturday night will be all about Catherine! However, she called last week to say that her fiance David would be singing at the Grand Ole Opry Saturday night. You may ask if she feels like her night is getting rained on. ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! This is great news. So Saturday we will be hanging out, doing girlie stuff all day. Then we have dinner reservations at a yummy Mexican restraunt (My favorite) and from there we will head to the Grand Ole Opry for David's debut. Im so happy for David and Catherine....this is a very exciting time for them. David's singing career could be getting ready to take off but most importantly they will be getting married June 6th. If you would like to be a huge part of this time in their life, call your local radio station (country of course) and request "RED LIGHT". From the show a limo will be picking us up and we are heading to downtown Nashville. Im sure I will have plenty of fun pics when I get home. Catherine always manages to have the best of time no matter where she goes. haha...thats how she caught David's attention. She was the girl dancing!!
CONGRATS CATHERINE AND DAVID

I hope everyone has a wonderful and safe weekend.
Much Love,

Love Story

So I am jumping on the wagon and telling mine and Aarons story. I got this idea from
Memphis Mama and Clementsvile. Our story is a long one so grab a snack and enjoy!!

I met Aaron the Summer of 2006. I am friends with his brother...so I knew of him but he had a girlfriend and I had a boyfriend. Aaron built a house in my mom's subdivision so I had seen him but never talked to him. Right before the summer began my relationship with the other guy ended and Aaron's relationship with the girl ended. One day I was leaving my moms and Aaron was mowing his lawn....Kyle his brother, my friend, was outside too so I stopped to say hi. Aaron came over and introduced himself. I drove off thinking he was good looking...dark hair and light blue eyes! Anyways a few weeks later I was at the Loop, a Tuesday night worship service for college students. Who do I run into?!?!? Aaron! He invited me and a few of my girlfriends over so of course we went. I still thought he was cute but im outgoing and talkative....the complete opposite of Aaron. He is quiet (until you get to know him). While at his house we were all talking about the upcoming Kenny Chesney concert. We all had tickets except for Aaron. So now lets jump forward a few days.....July 17, 2006 (yes I remeber) I was sitting at the concert with my best friend when all of the sudden Aaron walks up to us. He bought a ticket from a guy on the streets and came with his brother. So you can guess....I was totally excited and we ended up hanging out that night. After the concert we went downtown with my friends and his brother. As we were leaving I gave him my number. Before I even got home (30 minutes from downtown) my phone rang and it was Aaron. They got left downtown (so he says) so I had to go back and pick up him and his brother up. We ended up at a coffee house in the wee hours of the morning. We laughed, talked, and sang to the juke box..ahahah! That was the night it all began.

So four years later we have been through tons. Our relationship started slow and with walls up around both of us. We have laughed, cried, shared secrets, been angry at one another and most importantly GROWN. We have grown in love. Four years later we have found ourselves every week at the place we first met....Highpoint (thats where the Loop was). I have made this my church home. I have learned that relationships are not easy...they are work...but what in life isnt? We have made God the center of our relationship and I know that he will bless us and watch over us an guide us through life. Im very excited to see what all is in store for us and I look forward to growing old with my best friend. I love you Aaron!

Not me Monday

Happy Monday Everyone! I hope all you ladies had a wonderful Mother's Day. What a true blessing Mom's are to everyone!
So here it is the beginning of another week and its that time for "Not Me Monday" If you are new here and you are not familiar with this, you can head over and visit MckMamma for the rules and details! So let me sit back and think of the things I am ashamed to say I did......wait...or "didn't do...no not me" :)
I definitely DID NOT put on my new dress I ordered for one of my best friends weddings only to find out it didn't fit. Now this dress should have been here a month ago but now we have four weeks until the wedding so I'm surely going to have to starve myself and work out hard to fit in this dress or I will be the only bridesmaid sitting on the front row. The dress goes up and on...the zipper is just really tight....really really tight! I don't have a problem here...nope not me!
I DID NOT wake up Saturday morning around 6:00 thinking it was a work day. Nope not me. Thank goodness I had plans to hit up a few garage sales. I love finding old furniture to paint and re-do.
I DID NOT run around like crazy Saturday trying to figure out what to get my mama for mothers day. Thank goodness for Spa's. I have to get better at not procrastinating...wait I'm not a procrastinator...nah not me.
Lastly, I DID NOT sit around with one of my best friends and listen to her babies heart beat and little kicks all day yesterday afternoon. Baby Brooks is an active little boy. Jamie purchased some device you put on your belly and listen to his heart and movements through headphones. I promise we DID NOT sit for an hour straight listening and laughing. What a miracle God has given her. Im so excited to meet him in August!!
Hope everyone is having a SUPER Monday!!

My Mama.....My Friend

Happy Mothers Day!!!

Today was a great day! This morning my mom, my brother, Aaron and his family, and two of my girlfriends Jamie, Stephanie and her fiance Keith all went to church and had a great Mother's day lunch afterwards. Im so blessed to not only have a WONDERFUL mama but to also have a WONDERFUL boyfriend who has a WONDERFUL mom. So today was a great day with great my family and friends!!

Now what kind of daughter would I be if I did not tell yall a bit about my mom! My MAMA (thats what I call her) is my best friend! I love her and I am so thankful that God chose her to be my mom. She is so caring and would do ANYTHING to help anyone. She comforts me when im worried, stressed, sad and/or sick. I may be in my twenties but to this day if I get sick my mama is the first one I want. Poor Aaron. Something about her words and touch comfort me! Sometimes I feel bad for her though....I could be in the bed with the flu and it never fails that she will be laying right beside me...rubbing my back...waiting on my hand and foot. I have always been able to communicate with my mom. We may disagree at times but I KNOW she is there and I can tell her ANYTHING...no judgment just open ears and an open heart. My mama has also been my spiritual leader. When I was younger mom made sure I was in church (even if it was with a fuss) In highschool, I was not allowed to go out on Saturdays if I did not go to church on Sunday. WOW we would argue over this but today im so THANKFUL my mom never gave up on me! When I was young my mom said my prayers with me every night...nope you know what?....she even did when I was in highschool. EVERY night she would tuck me in and we would say our prayers!! I thank God that my mom is an amazing Christian woman who also led me to Christ.

My mom and dad are divorced but my mom made sure that I lived a normal life and never went without. My mom paid for my college all on her own. I was so lucky to graduate with no debt...no student loans, credit card bills, or any other form of debt. My mom always made sure I was taken care of. I got a car when I was 16 and always had a new prom dress each year. My mom would work 24hrs a day if thats what it took to make sure I had things I needed but also wanted. Wow....how selfish I feel. As I have grown older, my mom and I have developed a friendship. She is truely my best friend. She is who I tell all my secrets to, she knows me like the back of her hand and vice versa!

Guess what? I even have a brother!!! My mom is a wonderful mother to him also...Im pretty sure Cody would say the same. We are truely blessed to have her as our mother!

I THANK God for blessing me with a beautiful....on the inside and out.......Mom!

I love you Mama!
Love,
Leigh

Not Me Monday

Hey everyone! Okay I have followed MckMama for a while now and I always enjoy her blog. My favorite part of her blog is seeing the beautiful miracle STELLAN. Head over and read her blog...you will see exactly what Im talking about. I have missed reading her "Not Me Monday's" lately so today when I saw that its back, I decided to join the band wagon. Maybe some Monday's I will have some funny NOT ME'S but here is this weeks......
