Lets Talk Stockings

Since it is December and everyone is shopping and getting ready for Christmas, I thought I would do a little Christmas post! Now I KNOW Christmas is not about the gifts we give or receive. I also realize that the meaning of Christmas gets lost in all the fun of Santa. I will blog later about all that. Right now lets talk Stockings!

Okay I don't know about your family but my family is ALL ABOUT STOCKINGS! A family tradition we have is to open all our gifts {from immediate family} on Christmas morning. So of course Santa leaves us stockings full of fun. Honestly I did not really realize until last year that not everyone gets excited about stockings and not everyone has a stocking full of fun stuff.

Well Guess what.....MY STOCKING HAS NEVER LET ME DOWN!! hah! The stockings hanging on our mantle are not the ones we dig into on Christmas morning. Why you may wonder?!?! Well bc the ones filled with goodies on Christmas morning are BIG and well....kinda not cute. My mom always said you could get more in the ones we use for Christmas morning...not the ones hanging as a decoration.

So, now what makes my stocking a big deal?!?! My mom recently told me that her stocking growing up was filled with apples and oranges. What?!?! I'm sure some your families still do this...I have asked friends about this and never realized that this is what is in their stockings. My stocking is filled with random stuff. You never know what may be in the toe of that stocking!!! A new pair of earrings, necklace, perfume, bag of candy...you name it, it could be in there. That is what makes it so much fun in my opinion.....I never know what I may pull out. Sometimes a CD or a movie....maybe a piece of jewelry I wanted. Whatever it is my stocking stuffed to the brim with goodies.

Would I be sad if I had an empty stocking? Would I be sad if I got oranges?? NO...bc that is not what it is about. But one of my family traditions has always been full stockings that we open first thing....we open them before our gifts. Usually we already know what our gift/s will be bc we pick them out. Usually its a BIG item we wait all year for so its never really a surprise but like I said my stocking is always full of surprises.

So what is in your Stockings?!?!?!

A Very Random Post

Hey Everyone! So I don't really have anything interesting to blog about but I haven't blogged in a few days so I though I should at least say HI! Of course I have read all your blogs but I just haven't had anything exciting really to talk about.
THANKS For all the sweet comments on my trees. I love decorating and I LOVE decorating for Christmas...So much fun. If I had tons of money I would decorate EVERY room with a tree. :) They would all be different too! I'm going to do the Nester's Tour of homes...if you don't know about it go visit her blog here. Be sure to join in...it will be fun. I love seeing every ones Christmas decor...even the simple decor.

Well lets see...this past weekend was busy and fun. I have 2 different angel families to shop for this year so I spent ALL Saturday shopping. Yes, I'm about to say this....On Saturday I was convinced that I may never step foot in Target again. haha! There I said it!!! Now don't let me lie to you....I will step foot in Tarjay again {love that place} however on Saturday I spent hours there and was totally over it when I left. Thank goodness my bestie Heather was with me to keep me sane. It was so hard shopping for the little ones. There are SO many toys that I was just overwhelmed. Also, their wish lists were not "specific" for ex...it would say board games. Okay being the type of "perfectionist" that I am, I started freaking out thinking "what if they have the game" or "what game do they want the most". Good gracious it shouldn't be that hard. I finally chose one. haha! Yall get my point though...my shopping experience was pretty much like that all day long. I did however get some GREAT DEALS. Listen to this....I forgot what kind of deals you can get at Kohls. Kohls sent me a $10.00 gift card in the mail so I was sure to stop by and see what I could find....I spent $23.00 and SAVED $72.00!!! I was so EXCITED!!! That's a deal!! I got a pair of $50.00 shoes for $8.00. Thank goodness all my shopping is finished...I can sit back and enjoy my weekends. This weekend we are headed to Nashville and the next weekend is my birthday. Hope everyone is having a wonderful Monday!! It cold, dark and wet here. I have a gym appt with my trainer then Im off to the couch for some Biggest Loser!! Tonight is the finale...be sure to grab your kleenex. {I always cry} hah!

Happy Monday!

Need Advice

I have been pondering and researching vacation spots for the last two days and well I need help. So I figured I would bring it to my bloggy friends & even the lurkers. Okay my birthday is in a few weeks so I had a conversation the other night about going somewhere since I'm off work that following Monday. Aaron asked me where I would want to go which really got me thinking. My first thought was .....hmm...CABO!! I guess since its getting cold here I thought a beach would be fun or maybe it was the fact we were eating Mexican food. Anyways he reminded me real quick that I DO NOT have a passport. {neither does he} So I then decided California or New York again!! Its such short notice so I'm not pushing the envelope...Ill have a grand time here my friends and family.

Okay here is where I need HELP! You bet yalls tail I made a mad dash to the post office yesterday to get passport applications. haha!! Since they take 5-8 wks I figured we should get on this so that when the time comes to go somewhere I'm not stuck in a rut! So yesterday I was talking to my bestie and we have decided that come the first of the year or closer to summer we want to take a trip somewhere. Her husband made a good point...."lets go somewhere we have never been"....so I think out of this country would be fun but I want to keep it beachy {I dont believe thats a word but it works in this post} and not TOO far. I don't want to be on a 8-12 hour flight. I was thinking somewhere in Mexico or even the Bahamas.

SO WHERE WOULD YOU RECOMMEND?!?!?!?

Please give me some ideas...I need advice...Ive done my research and almost feel like im back at square one. :)

Christmas Wishlist

I think its safe to say its time to really think about what I want for Christmas!! :) NO need to wait until the last minute! Speaking of....I really need to start my shopping. My list is not long at all this year...I usually buy whatever I want for myself so sometimes when it comes to Christmas gifts I have the hardest time deciding what to tell people. Personally I LOVE gift cards {to my favorite stores} Most people do not like to give them bc of the whole "not personal or thoughtful" thing but I disagree. I think its so THOUGHTFUL when someone gives you money to your FAVORITE store. What a wonderful gift....you know it will be used on something special...right? Okay my BIG gift has been purchased...remember my post a few days ago....my camera!! There are a few things left that I would love to have so here they are......I would love an adorable strap for my new camera!! What ya think?!? Not this exact pattern but you get the idea. I have found tons of cute ones on Etsy.com.

I LOVE the cross in the picture above...I love the frames too but I really really really want one of the crosses!! One of my Favorite stores sales these Bella Vita. They are not on her online store but head over and check her website out....Love the store!!

Lastly, I want a pair of Cowgirl boots!! haha! I have a pair but they are not genuine leather...I bought them from a boutique about 2 years ago. I think they are adorable with certain dresses and a cute pair of jeans!!

So that is my wish list! Pretty simple!! So what are some yalls wish list items?!?! Let me know if you post about them so I can go see.

Happy Wednesday
